Insomnolence
A downloadable horror game for Windows
About the game:
This is officially my first game. Love to learn the world of Unreal Engine 4. It isn't much, but it is something I am proud of to present to the world. It is rough to be honest, but this is all I can do and fix since the start of the project which was around 2020.
NOTE: crashing and lags are beyond the scope on what i can fix. I did the best to optimized and prevent you to finish the game. I do apologize if it happens.
Walking simulator and story driven horror game. To be honest it is just a short experience.
TRIGGER WARNING:
It has heavy depictions of Depressive themes.
Updates?
Let me see i can do if there is some game breaking parts. feel free to give input on how to resolve these issues cuz i am new in the blueprint coding of unreal engine 4.

The creator of the game is a great friend of mine - I never got the courage to play his game all this time... even though I literally saw parts of it being made - I'm just too much of a scaredy cat to play it. Almost 1 year after - it took me making my own game to realize how important it will be for him to at least try it for him...I bet he already gave up making me try it knowing how i hate horror games...but today I chose to play it without his knowledge. It was the damnest scariest game I've ever played!!! Asdfjhasdjkgh I know for seasoned horror players it is different, but for me I was pooping my pants from the doorknob's shadows! D:< I scream every time the light flickers, and almost have to take breaks and breathe after every scary thing i see. 90% of the time I was looking at the floor playing. I have finally managed to finish it and see the end credits and cried. I know how much hard work he put in this game and how much of himself he poured into doing it - I'm just really sorry it took me this long to realize it and try it. I am not the brightest of friends...
Once I got a hold of myself while playing I stop and appreciate all the small bits and arts he sprinkled in the environment. I almost also giggled I saw the bunny had a uhh... x in his behind - despite being a horror game - the feel was both horrific and beautiful in an artsy way. This game is a great stepping stone for more of his upcoming awesome games and I shall be here to try all of them.
If you stumble upon my friend's game and you read up to this point in my comment - before making yours - please remember that this game was made from the creator's everything. It may look simple for you - but it took so much more from him in doing it - so any love and support you may give will truly be a blessing! I urge you to try it and give him your thoughts!
Good stuff. Played this and got smooth framerate, dk why everyone is having problem but all good for me. I got a friend also who cant really fall asleep due to constant nightmare but dont really know if it's the same as you. But overall, wish you the best of health!
oh thank you and I have been better lately~ will see a doctor soon about my mental health :D cheers mate!
Poked a lot of fun at the fandom aspect of it, but when push comes to shove, I greatly appreciate the time, effort, and emotion put into this indie game. Mad props for tackling something so serious and making it not only your own, but a positive piece of art others can enjoy.
thank you so much man to giving it a go and even given the time to comment your thoughts. It means a lot! This is the best play though so far xD mad props to you guys! haha i won't apologize to the butthole hahhahaaha! love that bit of the video!
Damn, thats a sad story. The game told it really well, and despite my pc turning into turbine, it was really smooth and great experience.
thank you for finishing my game and sorry about that. I did my best to optimize it
I'm sorry for what you're going through, I hope you're fine and keep spreading kindness no matter how small.
For the game, I hope there will be jumpscare and scary music background to make the game tense.
even though it's like that I really like the design of the bunny it's very cute and I love it
keep it up bro
yes, and I still do keep my head held high and keep on spreading good vibes as well~ Thank you for the input and will add more scares and music on the next one! and thank you for playing! you've been awesome! :D

92/100 VERY GOOD
thank you so muchhh!!!
I love it and i need more and more and more
thankusss <3 will make more!
This was a really cool horror game uses the concept for P.T. to tell a sad and difficult story that people may have experience themselves as well. I liked the cartoonish design for the objects and characters of the game as it really makes the game stand out in terms of visuals and makes the game feel more original. I loved the amount of effort put in by the creator to make the rooms in the game detailed with objects that we may have at home as well, since it brings out the habits that the main character has and that someone is living in the home (If you get what I mean because most creators don't furnish the room, making the room feel not homely at all.) The deterioration of the house as the player continues playing through the game was amazing where scary forms of the main character start to appear as well as the background of the house changed makes the entire experience more horrifying and interesting.
It would be good if there were more things to do in the game though, like interacting with random items in the house that also changes when time passes as well as adding more sound effects and music to further enhance the horrifying atmosphere of the game. I am glad that the creator of the game is able to push beyond the boundaries that kept him down and I hope to see more from the creator in the future. Don't ever give up and keep on doing what ye doing! :)
Thank you for reading my comment and I wish you good luck in your future endeavours.
helloo DragonExplosion! thank you for playing my game!!! and made a comprehensive review and input thank you. Thank you for noticing the detail in the clutter cuz i do find other horror games just place random stuff that doesnt tell the story of who inhabit the room.
I do realize that adding more interactive stuff will being more life to this small experience. In the next one I will deffo apply that! and noted on the music. Will definetly hire a professional to make one cuz music and sound design sells the horror genre. Will make another one soon!
thank you again for playing and taking your time to write this! It warms my heart!
The game was emotional, the story was sweet ( even tho I'm joking around, still there some part's that I can relate & agree). We all been there man, and at the same time when I was editing this video; I kind a feel bad for making a lot of jokes {sorry about that dude, hope this cheer you up :) }. I think what can I say is that story was nice ( nice game design/loop mechanic ) , but game play was alright ( the back ground of the game silent {wish there was sound effects or scary music} & and maybe some traumatizing action or jump scares to the player ).
But still it was a pleasant experience, good job bro.
I appreciate it my dude and i do love your commentary and editing! makes the experience more fun! Will make the next horror game with those in mind. I am trying to apply my experimental concept of less to none jump scare to this one but i figure it needs more tweaking in the next horror game. I am glad you enjoy playing so! thank you so much :D
Glad you like it man!, I was scared for a moment. Also yeah this experimental non jump scare was great. Wish you luck on your next game bro :D.

big creepy
thank you so much for giving it a go! why did you stop at the end though? o.o
Fuck man. That was an experience. Definitely expected a jump scare but the heartbreak was really great, in all senses of horrifying.
I'm sure the process of making the game itself has been really personal and reflective for you, so I won't be saying much in that regard. Didn't really expect much from a walking simulator (tbh thanks for adding that as a note, I would have been a bit let down by the gameplay-) buuut it's a really short but great storytelling medium with a pacing that fit well. Obviously nothing groundbreaking but it's really neat and scarily relatable.
The colors of the sudden fireworks really hit home. I love it, I genuinely loved that scene. And I say that as generally someone meh on their flamboyant display. Thank you so much for the experience and see you on a future stream!
thank you for giving your time to play and write a comprehensive review~ It was hard to make in the sense of personal and technological aspects indeed. As a game dev i do want to be transparent to my users. I do love these old tropes and making it my own. I did thought of how short it was but I don't want to take too much of your time if I manage to tell the story as it is.
I am glad you do love that! I do love makin that part. Thank you as well for finishing my first ever game. It really warms my heart! please do link your stream! :D
wow, this game was actually scary. good shit
thank you so much!!! :D thank you for being the first comment and review!!!
Ye, there's some high potential here. keep up the good work!
